Two months is a normal amount of time to go without blogging, right?
With a new year upon us I am really motivated to bring back my blog. I don’t know how often I will post but I do know that I miss having something to look back on to remind me of all the good times that I’ve had over the last few months! With that being said, here is a little recap in photos of what has been going on in my life during my two month hiatus from blogging. Enjoy!
Girls night out in Madison
Thanksgiving in Hilton Head, South Carolina
Christmas in Maine
New Years Eve in Chicago with friends from Boston 🙂
I am ecstatic to say that I just recently signed up for my third race!! (Click to read about my first race and my second race).
This isn’t just any race. It is a race that is put on in many locations all over the country. Yes, I signed up to run a Rock ‘N’ Roll half marathon!! In New Orleans!!
Two weeks ago my friend Jess emailed our group of UNH girls and suggested the idea of signing up for the Rock ‘N’ Roll half marathon in New Orleans and staying a few extra days to celebrate her 25th birthday. I didn’t even hesitate. My answer immediately was yes. I have been dying to run one of these races. Add 5 of my best friends from UNH/Boston plus a birthday celebration plus New Orleans and I’d say we have ourselves a crazy weekend in our future. I wish the race was sooner!!
Here a few pictures of the six of us from the past. 🙂

My going away party in Boston before I moved to Wisconsin
I love these girls and miss them so much!! I am so happy that I have this weekend to look forward…even if it isn’t until March!! 😀
Phil and I got off the plane in Boston and the first thing he said to me was, “do you smell that?”…oh boy did I smell it! The smell of the ocean put an instant smile on my face. It is something I definitely miss. Before moving to Wisconsin, I was always just miles from the ocean weather it was in Maine, New Hampshire, or Boston. Now I am surrounded by lakes. It just isn’t the same.
Before I left for my first trip to Boston, I told you all what I love so much about the city. Well, all of those things still stand to be true. The weekend was definitely a blast! It was so, so good to see all of my friends that I have missed so much! It was pretty weird being in my old apartment and around the city with the people I was so used to and be a visitor instead of a resident!
But ultimately, words won’t do the weekend justice so instead I will share with you my weekend in photos. Enjoy!
Me and my old roommates! (it looks like there is an animal laying on my shoulder. fail.)
The girls pre going out!
Two of my favorites! 🙂
Another roommate picture.
Now the goal is to get all these people out to Madison for a visit! A girl can dream. 🙂
The weekend ended with a day walking the beach with my parents. It couldn’t have ended more perfectly. Miss you friends! Can’t wait to see you again soon!
Ever since I moved to Wisconsin I have been meaning to write a “what I love/miss about Boston” post. Clearly I haven’t got around to it. Now that the day is here for my trip back to Boston, I figure this is the perfect time for a post that is long over due.
So, with that being said. Here is what I love and miss about Boston. I really don’t think words are necessary.
(yes, despite their embarrassing losing streak I still miss the Sox and Fenway)
And what I miss most about Boston…

Night of my going away party
I can’t believe that I haven’t seen these people in THREE months! I can’t wait to see all my friends!! 😀 There are so many good memories from Boston and I can’t wait to make more this weekend!
It’s Friday…the sun is out…my friends want to hang out…this means that it’s worth it to give up a shift at the restaurant tonight. I was scheduled to work tonight, tomorrow night, AND Sunday night. This would leave me no time for myself and no time for my friends. Considering I have very few weekends left here in this great city, I couldn’t let this happen. Lucky for me, one of my lovely coworkers agreed to pick up an extra shift and work for me tonight. Yay!!
Roomie time! (don’t mind us, we’re just loving each other. we may or may not have had a few beverages). We need to capitalize on all opportunities to hang out and have fun since I will be moving out next month. Tonight is a great night to do that!
Hopefully these girls will join us!
And we can meet up with these boys!
I will miss them all when I move. BUT we’ll save the sad stuff for later.
Goals of this weekend:
- Have fun with friends 😀
- Don’t neglect the blog
- Eat out at a new restaurant (there is a crepe place down the road I’ve been dying to try. I’ve never had a crepe)!
Time to relax (look! I’m already accomplishing one of my goals) until my roommates get home. Have a great weekend everyone!

Get through Monday, check!
Monday’s are always a struggle but even more so when the weekend before was so great! After making it through the work day there was one thing on my mind: must. work. out. A bunch of my friends and I are training for a half marathon at the end of May. Not working out for the last 4 days led me to believe that today’s run would be a struggle. I was pleasantly surprised when this wasn’t the case. I put on the Lady Gaga Pandora station and pumped out 6 miles! I highly recommend this station to work out to! I was never a fan of working out to Pandora but after having my hard drive crash….twice…and losing all my music…twice…I gave up on the whole thing. Thank goodness for Pandora!
With our busy schedules my roommates and I rarely cross paths these days. Tonight we planned a sushi date. Yummmm! I went out of the box (for me) and got crazy maki and a vegetable caterpillar roll. I know, I know…so adventurous ;). Oh, I can’t forget the edamame that we got for an appetizer. So delicious! Here I am again, wishing I took pictures of my yummy meal. This is the goal for the next time that I go out to eat. Done and done.
I really need to unpack from my New York weekend and repack for the next few days in PA with the fam. But first…..Bethenny Ever After! Best part of Monday, woohoo!
